Thomas was a Butcher like his Father.
Notes from Eira Makepeace:
St Crux baptism transcript at the City of York archives for his grandson Christopher born 1810 gives Thomas as a butcher, deceased, late of the Shambles; other refs to a butcher in his claim to be a freeman of the City of York where his father Thomas is also named a butcher. This Thomas claimed his freemanship by patrimony 21st September 1767. There are three Thomas Dalton butchers free in the City of York archives’ list but cannot make a connection yet.
Rachel was second wife as noted in parish register for births of children including William, flax dresser born 1783.
Marriage bonds show him aged 37.)
