The gravestone said that William was 8 years old.

Did she die in 1889 rather than 1869 as other researchers seem to suggest? And if so, is that why he married so soon after his marriage to Mary?
I have no idea when she might have been born, so I am guessing at 25 years before her marriage, = 1864
