10 Dec 2006:Hello. Below is the policy I have been using since I set up this site some years ago.
I have deliberately left off any person who is/was born since 1905. This way I feel I am able to preserve the privacy of people who are still living, and it is usually far enough back for people to come across a common relative.
If you notice that someone listed on my site is still alive, then please let me know, and I will remove the person etc. So far, it has only happened once to my knowledge.
The only exception to this limit of placing people on the site if they were born before 1905, is that in some of the lists of burials from York Cemetery, there are children who were born after 1905 who died prior to 1950. It is unlikely I will be adding any more such people on to the cemetery lists, though I do intend to put more names on the cemetery lists, though from an earlier time as and when I find the information.
If I receive permission to put living people on my site then I will, though I have not had anyone ask for this so far. Most relatives appear happy to have there parents or grandparents listed, which is fine by me.
If you have information that I do not have, or at least it is not on the site, then let me know, and if you want to have the information put on my site, then let me know. I prefer, where possible, to have the information in electronic format, especially GEDcom format, but if you only have paper, thn so be it, it will just take a lot longer to convert the information to electronic format etc.
If there is information you want to send me, but not have me put the information on the site, then thast is fine by me. Some people have done this, which makes it possible to bring a line forward to say 1900, but stop there. Yet I have the information of who gave me it, so I can pass on emails to the appropriate person etc.
Hope this clears things up.
