1 Feb 2001: Again I am at a dead end, with no apparent Snaith Families in the Parish of Sand Hutton, or round about, though I probably coud do with searching again a bit more thoroughly.

1 Feb 2001: The only Simon Pickersgill I can find was Christened in London, and was the son of Simon Pickersgill. I have no proof however that he came up from London, but it is currently the only evidence that I have.
Thomas was a Labourer.
!there are two Thomas's born to parents of the same name (hence they could be the same people), but seeing as there are two to choose from, I am picking the later of the two, as the first one may have died young, though I am not sure yet. The 1851 Census suggested that Thomas was born in Thornton Le Moor, in 1797. I think that Thornton Le Moor comes in the parish boundaries of North Otterington, but I am not sure.
He was alive in 1851

I believe that John Bell born 1825 married Margaret Thornton who was born in Holme near Pickhill just a few miles from Dalton. They had a daughter Frances H born 1869 and a daughter Annie M born 1871. They had a son named Joseph born 1874 and John Myers Bell born 1877, died aged 19 1897. Margaret (Thornton) Bell died 1894.
On the 1881 census John is an agricultural labourer. On the 1891 he is a bricklayer.
Kind regards

I think i have need to make a correction to this Thomas Bell. He cannot be having a child when he is 16 years old, it just was not done back then. I still think Thomas is the father of Thomas Bell born 1799 at North Otterington, but it could be that Thomas Snr is not the son of William Bell, though the name does run in the family. So, I need to do some more research on this!
I need to check the original records to take this line further back, especially to look for the marriage of Thomas and Elizabeth.

The age at death of 81 years suggests a birth date of 1733. Perhaps I need to look and see if there are any other possible candidates for his Christening.
