Jonathan Parvin

~in 17 Jan 2003 Helen Fosbrook lived at 20 Hayway, Irthlingborough, Northants NN9 5QP Tel 01933 388503

Johnathon was a Wright and Carpenter.

There is a question mark over the exact date of Johnathon's christening, but it is possibly 6 OCT 1782.
From Helen Fosbrook:
Hello Brian,
Thanks for your reply and email address.
Jane Fenwick was buried 17.4.1822 aged 84 yrs at Kilburn. Parish Reg. Her father Thomas was a farmer and her mother was a Jane. Her husband Thomas was a carpenter.
I have burials for their son George 14.2.1791 (well I think he is their son - could be their grandson son of Thomas bapt. 1767?) at Kilburn and their daughter Jane 24.12.1783 at Kilburn.
From par. reg. I have an illegitimate son George son of their dau. Catherine bapt. 18.2.1800 at Kilburn. Par. Reg.
Their dau. Ann I have married to James Dixon 8.11.1808 at Kilburn. Par. Reg. Also possible illegitimate dau of Ann named Ann bapt. 20.1.1805 at Kilburn. I.G.I. No marriage for James and Jane. James occupation was a joiner/Wright. This taken from parish reg. The other two children of James and Jane are:-
Thomas born 1805 - 1810 buried 26.2.1810 at Kilburn. Have parish reg. entry for this.
Jane bapt. 1.2.1818 at St. Sampson, York. From I.G.I. Possible dau. reg. needs to be checked, to see if James occupation is given to confirm.
I also have the Jonathan marr. to Dinah Clarke. But did not associate it with your Jonathan. Dinah was buried 13.2.1817 at Kirby Knowle. From par. reg.
Jonathan occupation in 1807 given as carpenter and in 1809-12 as cartwright. On looking at my card index I see Jonathan was a wright in 1819. So I should have made the connection between the two. Have possible marr. for their dau. Dinah 24.11.1834 to William Hathwaite at Alne. I.G.I. Thomas who married Jane Fenwick, I have nothing for his parentage or date of birth. Just C 1740. I have a Thomas marr. to Mary Miller in 1730 at Leake who could perhaps be his parents. Or as you say Anthony & Catherine. I have 7 children bapt. as children of Anthony. Some at Topcliffe some at Hawnby. Extra to what you have is Margaret bapt. 8.12.1732 at Topcliffe and Margaret bapt. 24.5.1741 at Hawnby. The I.G.I. has child against Margaret 1732 and Thomas 1736. Think this means they died as infants. Hawnby is not far from Kilburn on the map so Anthony would probably be the best bet. My line is descended from Thomas & Hannah who had a son John who married Esther and lived at Little Leake amongst other places. They had a son George born 1800 at North Otterington. This George moved to Sheffield and married Martha Dyson. Their son George born 1833 at Sheffield, married Fanny Naylor and had a son George born 1860 who married Jane Morton. George & Jane moved to Scotland and had several children one of whom was Rose Ellen my grandmother. Rose Ellen married Robert McKenzie and had five daughters. Their dau. Jane was my mother. She moved to Corby in Northamptonshire and married my father and that is where I was born. I am now married with three children and two grandchildren. Not sure how we are connected but feel that we most probably are. I also have been in touch with Jerry. Also Donna Parvin-Byxbie who is descended from John who was born at Morton le Swale nr. Northallerton c 1604. Have looked at their web site. Have also spoken to Mr. & Mrs. Parvin who run the pine shop in Thirsk. Am awaiting a reply from them. They like my family have a lot of Georges and a rash of twins. Does your family follow that trend? I presume that you are descended from Thomas and Jane Fenwick. Am I right? Think I had better close this email and get it off to you as it is getting quite late. Once again many thanks for your email and look forward to hearing from you further. Regards, Helen

From Helen Fosbrook:
Hello again Brian, Thanks for your further information. On looking at the I.G.I. again I see that there is a Catherine bapt. 9.5.1762 at Haunby dau. of Jane. I wonder if this Jane is Jane bapt. 1732 dau. of Anthony & Catherine? Burial of Thomas in 1810. Parish reg. does not give age, just that he is the son of Thomas and Jane, occ. Wright of Low Kilburn. With regard to the Dysons in Sheffield, I am related to the ones who used to have the Dysons factory at Stannington. Have been in touch with Carole McAndrew regarding this branch of Dysons. My Thomas who married Hannah was I believe bapt 11.3.1744/5 to Thomas and Ellen at Leake. A little too early to be your Thomas, but a nice thought. Have corrected my tree now, to include the information you have given me, but could you let me have details of your descent so that I can add them to the tree? Regards, Helen
