Her name of Maria was pronounced as Mariah according to family history.
Name shown as Annie on 1880 Census.
From a letter from Anna Harper, 1/13/1998, Joseph left his daughter with an Aunt after Annie Brooks died. She also noted that Joseph did not get along with some of the family (Brooks?).
E-Mail from VonaMae Dunn, 11/15/98, says "she was sent to Portage, Box Elder County, Utah, to live with an Aunt. This Aunt didn't like Joseph and filled the little girl's head with bad things about her father. After he remarried, he went to Portage to get our father's mother to go live with him but she was afraid to go with him and stayed with the Aunt and married our grandfather, Thomas Parley John. "
In the source "Thomas Parley John's Life", the aunt is identified as Emma Landon. Emma Landon is Emma Brooks Landon, sister to Anna Maria Brooks.
Location of death also reported to be Provo, Utah by source Dunn.
Source Thomas Parley John's Life, says "She became ill and was in the hospital, where she dies 5 or 6 months later".
VonaMae Dunn reports that her body was "brought home" for burial by train.

~This second marriage was performed by a Congrregational minister, a Rev Charles Cook:
From a Newspaper clipping (From Galena?):
"A very Happy but strictly private wedding took place at Mr Hiram Well's Residence in Park City, Utah, April 21 (1890). The Contracting parties being Mr J.F.Wells, of Park City, and Miss Annie Baldwin, of Chicago. The impressive ceremonywas performed at 8:30 pm, by Rev Charles Cook. the brife looked very pretty in Lavender silk, and was the recipient of many beautiful and usful gifts. The young lady is a member of an old galena family, is left here about a year ago, to make her home in Chicago.
Had Joseph lost faith in the LDS church by this time?? Were his Brother William and his wife Elizabeth strong in the faith at the time?? Would they have been happy for it to have occurred, if they were still strong in the faith?? It would be interesting to know thier thoughts at the time.Twin Brother is Hyrum Wells. Fraternal twins based upon a letter from Annie Baldwin to her mother commenting on how much Joseph and Hyrum look alike, not on how hard it is to tell them apart.
Unknown if the use of the middle name Fell is assumed or given. Death Certificate for Annie T. Baldwin shows his name as Joseph F. Wells. Original birth record does not show a middle initial or name.
Resided: Bradford, Yorkshire, England, then Salt Lake City, Utah (1870 and 1880 Census), then Park City, Utah, then Richfield, Utah (possible visiting his parents). Moved to Chicago in 1891.From a letter written by Annie Baldwin Wells to her mother on 4/23/1890, Joe has a sister who married a Gibson (Scotsman), had 6 children, one that just died, and lives 4 miles down the road from them in Park City, Utah. Which sister is un-identified. This should be Mary Ann.
From the IGI, a Charles John Gibson is shown as a relative to William Hyrum Wells at his birth in 1883.Birth Certificate shows his Name as Joseph Wells, born at 1:45 AM on 3/29/1854 at home, 21 North Street, Bradford.
Also incorrectly reported as 3/29/1855.
A handwritten note in an old ledger book states "Joseph F Wells Born in Bradford Yorkshire - Eng - Mar 29 - 1854 11-45 PM" This is incorrect..
Died 10/21 or 10/22 1912. Cause of death was a Stroke (Apoplexy). Cemetery records report cause of death was a Hemmorage on 10/20/1912.
From Annie Baldwin Wells journal, he "dropped dead in the bath room" on 10/21.
From the church bulletin, he died the morning of Oct. 21. Funeral was at the home on 10/22 in the evening, then his body was shipped to Galena.
From a letter to her sister (not Frances, or Emma, or Margaret) on Oct 26, he had gotten up to go to the toilet between 8:30 and 9 AM, all was well. She went down stairs and heard a door slam closed. Returned upstairs and tried to open the bath room door. Could open only a little, and saw him lying on the floor.
Message from source Royce says this actually a Confirmation.

Thomas was a Tailor. According to the 1891 Census, he, his wife Mary and all his children were born in York, yet I do not seem to have the same information. They were living in Cleveland Place, Fulford, York. I seem to have found this information in either Dec 1998 or Jan 1999, but I have only just come across it again (15 May 2001), so that is why there is a discrepancy with the RIN numbers.
!!Having just found this, I looked on the 1881 Census for James aged 2, and this is what I found:Dwelling: 12 Long Close Lane Yd
