Andrew was given the Freedom of the City of York on the 27 jul 1840.
!He lived in Petergate and was a Bricklayer.
!In April 1881, he was living with his second wife, Elizabeth and daughter
!Jennie at 10, Layerthorpe.
!His son Thomas was living just a few doors down at 13 Layerthrope, York.
!His occupation is given as Brick and Tile maker.1871 Census:Layerthorpe, York, Probably in the Parish of st Cuthbert's, or St Maurice, as Layerthorpe (Rd) is a long road, and ther borders of the two parishes run close to this road, if not actually have it within thei borders. I cannot remember if it is in only one of their borders or both of them.
Bulmer, Andrew, Head, Married, 58, Brick & Tile Maker, Born York
Bulmer, Elizabeth, Wife, Married, 43, Born Nottinghamshire, GamstonAccording to the 1891 census Jane Swanbeck is listed as a niece to Andrews second wife Elizabeth, but this does not make sense, as both the 1881 census and the will of Andrew Bulmer state that she is his daughter!
Jane who is Andrew's daughter form his Second marriage, was born at Gainsbro, Lincolnshire, in 1870.She is listed as a Teacher of music
I have not found any Jane Swanbeck's on the FamilySearch website. Perhaps this is her married name??

Mary Ann is the 6th child born to Thomas Weadley and Margaret Austin. Her
sister Ann is the 2nd child. As of Nov 1995 we have yet to find the other four children.
!Mary became a member of the Salem Chapel Congragational church on the 27 April 1834. She was previously a member of the Lendal Congregational Church, member number 499. She was member number 202 of Salem Chapel. She lived in Layerthorpe, and the notes say that 'She died in peace after a long illness 17th Feb 1856.'
Joseph died before 1842, else why would his parents have two children alive
called Joseph?! It was this second Joseph who was made a freeman of the city of
York in 19 Jul 1863, not the first one as I had previously thought.
It appears that this Andrew died young, otherwise why would another son
!born to his parents also be called Andrew??!
In the will of Mary's Father, Mary is called Mary Lowe or Lown. I cannot tell from the writing. I have yet to find a marriage which can verify this though. There was no suggestion of children to Mary and her husband, they may have grown up, but then I don't really recall there being any mention of grandchildren in the will.

This Thomas is not the son of my Ancestor George dalby, as George was alive at the marriage of his daughter Mary Jane Dalby in 1880. Also, George did not have a son born in 1853. Yes, there was a Thomas Born in 1855, but George did not die until 1907.
I cannot find the marriage of this couple. could Sarah be from Copmanthorpe.
