She drowned in a well :(
The exact date of Sarah's death I do not know yet, but the dates I have put in the death field are determined from the mention which Sarah receives in the records of the christening of her Grandchildren. In 1784, when James Booth is born she is still alive, but by Oct 1785, when another of her Grandchildren, Margaret is born, she had since died.
Did Johnathon marry Margaret Moyner of the parish of Wigginton, 26 Dec 1785 at Wigginton??
If so, both signed the register with a mark.
People from the Ancestral File who are researching this family:
In the parish register, there appears to have been a mistake made in that the mother of the child is given as the daughter of Richard And Ann Verity of Shipley, Yorkshire. These are the parents of James's Brother's wife, Elizabeth Verity.
The Parish record stated that Stephen was an illegitimate child, and that he '....was born in the house of John Walker in Nun Monkton, is verified by Joseph Booth of this parish [Wigginton] who married the sister of the said Mary [Stephen's Mother]'; hinting that he may have been the father.
Did Mary later marry John Walker??
The Parish record stated that Stephen was an illegitimate child, and that he '....was born in the house of John Walker in Nun Monkton, is verified by Joseph Booth of this parish [Wigginton] who married the sister of the said Mary [Stephen's Mother]'; hinting that he may have been the father.
I hve a note saying that she is not from Wiggington. I assume that this is because I could not find any Wedgewood's born in the parish of Wiggington.
Joseph's wife and son I found on the 1851 Census for York. They were living at 29 Palmer Lane in the Parish of St Saviour. Joseph was a Porter and Currier.
